I’m so happy with this site’s logo. It has great energy and a warmth that comes from working with a real artist like Suku. I found Suku by seeing his tag all around my neighborhood and many others here in Cali, a city that I think is home to some of the best street art in the world.
Street artists here tend to be easy to look up on Instagram, so I found him, DM’d him, and he gave me a quote to design the site logo.
Suku is a designer, illustrator, and muralist who approaches each project as a collaboration with a place and a community. When I asked him about his work, he described a process rooted in the specific histories and communities surrounding a site—where public space, everyday observers, and the environment all shape his art. His murals draw on community memory and shared experience, translating themes of life, nature, ancestry, and social struggle into compositions full of life and color.
His response felt like real synchronicity – these are many of the same themes and values that we try to express through data and product. But it shouldn’t be a surprise… just look at some of this stuff:
These are our themes in mural form. Or maybe we’re playing with his themes in database form. Consider hiring Suku for your next design or illustration project.
